Thanksgiving 2010
We spent Thanksgiving tucked in away from the snow. It's not that the snow was that bad considering some of the Michigan snowfall's that I've lived through, but it was enough to decide to be lazy and just enjoy a relaxing day inside. Steve and I watched football, cooked up a yummy meal, watched movies and ended the night playing Nintendo Wii sports resort! Hannah got to enjoy some turkey and play frisbee in the snow! By Saturday, the snow was melted and we headed up to Anacortes to hike up Mt. Erie. It was a fun hike and we were able to see the sun set from the top.

Fall update 2010
Wednesday, September 1, 2010
Lots of accomplishments for the end of August! Steve turned 31 and we hosted a BBQ to celebrate with our friends. Hannah and I hiked Mt. Si (in North Bend, WA) almost 4500 ft or somewhere around there. Steve finally got his new old bike tuned up and went for his first ride up Norway Hill, a hill that took me time to build my climbing skills to get up. He did it on the first try. That's a Marine for you. :) All in all, I think we have enjoyed summer, but the weather is turning cooler and the rain will set in soon for sure.

Mount Pilchuck!
I've been wanting and waiting to hike up Mt. Pilchuck for about 2 years now and finally did it this weekend! It was the first mountain I've ever summited! Steve, Hannah and I, and our friend Grant, and our new friend Melissa (who is interning at OPT), hiked the 5340 ft mountain to the look out tower above. Unfortunately, the clouds never went away, so we were unable to view all the other mountain peaks and cities from above. Not to worry, we had a great time and Hannah is laying next to me on the couch completely wiped out!
Tour De Whatcom
I completed my first Bicycle Tour of the summer this weekend! I had a blast being back in the saddle again! I even met someone who knew the Houghton area of the U.P and had an immediate riding buddy for the tour since I went solo. It was a 25 mile ride, less than what I've done in the past, but it was a great workout and I look forward to participating in more bike tours before the summer's end!
